Welcome to our rosy world. . .
After searching for a timeless, attainable, and beautifully crafted silk scarf — and being unable to find one — I began to wonder: how hard could it really be?
I knew exactly what I wanted. A silk scarf timeless enough to be passed down, made well enough to last, practical for everyday wear, yet luxurious enough to make the everyday feel like an occasion. Why couldn’t I have my cake and eat it too?
The day Parsley and Twine came to me, I was on a walk in the Cotswolds. It was my 26th birthday, and as a Kiwi, I was fully leaning into the quintessentially English life — the walks, the Barbour jacket, even the pub (for a Coke Zero with lemon, of course). My Dad would laugh at this.
In that moment, I came across an array of Cow Parsley — an English wildflower I’d first discovered whilst watching Lydia Millen vlogs back home in New Zealand.
It doesn’t take much to fall in love with Cow Parsley. Its understated elegance, airy romance, and quiet beauty perfectly encapsulate the English countryside. And in that moment — rightly or wrongly — all I wanted to do was pick it.
I checked (quickly) whether Google would allow it, then gathered a rather handsome bouquet. The hair tie I used to fasten the stems, however wasn't really the vibe. I turned to my sister and said, “If only I had some Twine.”
The next day, with only a few moments before rushing to the train for a romantic weekend in Bath, I sketched the initial idea. A double-sided silk scarf adorned with Cow Parsley, bordered with twine — inspired by parcels wrapped by hand in a slower, more thoughtful time. With hand-rolled hemming, for that personal touch.
And so, Parsley and Twine began.
Each scarf collection is its own love letter to England — each with a story of its own, just like this one.
Our scarves are crafted using 100% mulberry silk twill, sourced from small-scale farms. We are notably thicker at 18 momme, understanding that urban and country living, isn't just a marketing spin, but a requirement for us to deliver on, technically!
I am proud to say that it is possible produce a scarf that is luxurious enough to be worn for an important meeting in the city, but versatile and practical for an afternoon in the country. Something that I really struggled to find before Parsley and Twine.
I am also very proud to note, that Parsley and Twine is also a social enterprise, partnering with From Me To You,who help combat the loneliness and social isolation associated with cancer by delivering handwritten letters to patients when they need them most.
With our partnership, five percent of revenue from every scarf sold (even wholesale), is donated to fund stamps.
As a founder also wanting to contribute outside my brand, I have pledged to write one letter each month myself.
We also run a Donate the Scarf Program, allowing you (or your workplace) to gift scarves directly to someone going through cancer treatment — extending comfort, beauty, and connection when it matters most. Please explore further here, on how we could meet your CRS needs.
As I, like many people, have a personal cancer connection, this partnership is something I truely treasure. How 'From Me to You' also celebrates the art of letter writing—something I’ve cherished since first watching 'Letters to Juliet' at 12 years old, makes it feel especially rosy.
As a slow fashion brand, it’s my hope that you buy less, but buy well. Share with friends, pass between loved ones, and perhaps one day pass it down to your child or grandchild. Allow your loved ones to become part of our story too. After all, stories are meant to be shared.
Because we believe in 'slow fashion', we don't partake in sales. Our collections instead are here to stay, with colours and styles considered against all seasons to ensure complete versatility.
Recognising our responsibility operating online and on social media, our photographs are always the raw files. Never retouched. The only lighting we use is the sun.
Our hand-drawn silk scarves are packaged with love in acid-free tissue, nestled inside a beautiful gold-foil gift box.
Audrey Hepburn believed that "every day, you should have a least one exquisite moment". Would you let our scarves be that for you?
Come and be part of our story.
With love,
Abbie x
